MotoGP 125cc Season Prep

As a kid I was hooked on motocross. I ate it, drank it, and slept it. But, like so many devoted moto-heads, adulthood crept into the picture. I put aside boyhood fun for the pursuit of career and grown-up concerns. Before I knew it, sixteen years had passed during which time I didn’t drop the clutch on a motorcycle. I missed it deeply. So, in my forties I took the plunge and dove back into the hobby that had given me so much joy.

1190RR Preview

Just a few months after Harley-Davidson discontinued the Buell Motorcycles line, Erik Buell Racing has announced a tantalizing first new motorcycle: the 1190RR. Based on the Buell 1125R and Buell 1125RR (which was created to compete in Superbike last year), the 1190RR gets increased engine displacement to bring it closer to the current class limit for V-twins in both the AMA and World Superbike (WSBK).

Ducati Service Extention

With the arrival of the new Multistrada 1200, Ducati will reach a significant milestone in the company’s engineering history by extending the periods between major services on the new model to an owner-friendly 24,000km (15,000 miles).

Doubling the mileage between valve clearance inspection has been made possible with the introduction of a new valve seat material combined with improved combustion efficiency and temperature management designed into the Multistrada’s new Testastretta 11° engine.

Ducati Superpole Report

The first Superpole of the 2010 World Superbike (WSBK) season took place this afternoon at a breezy Phillip Island, and Ducati Xerox rider Michel Fabrizio was undoubtedly one of the protagonists, putting in a strong and consistent performance to snatch second place on tomorrow’s grid, and missing out on pole by just a fraction of a second. Team-mate Noriyuki Haga had a more difficult time, qualifying in tenth place for the opening races of the year.
