Moto2 Results

Toni Elias (Gresini Racing Moto2, Moriwaki) bounced back from a difficult few races to win the German Moto2 GP race at the Sachsenring ahead of pole-sitter Andrea Iannone (Fimmco Speed Up, Speed Up).

Elias may have led the World Championship since his second Moto2 race win in May’s French GP at Le Mans, but this was his first win since Le Mans.

The Moto2 race began with a massive crash in the first turn that would have a profound effect on the outcome of the race.

It was hard to assign blame for what happened, but it appeared there was some overaggressive riding mid-pack which caused a chain reaction that sent eight riders to the ground with several more forced to take evasive action.

Moto2 Le Mans

Toni ElĂ­as opened up an 18-point lead at the top of the Moto2 World Championship standings with his second win of the season. The Spanish rider led a podium completed by Julian Simon and Simone Corsi, in a race that was extremely eventful in its opening stages.

MotoGP Report

Jorge Lorenzo’s lead at the top of the FIM MotoGP World Championship stretched to nine points after the Spaniard won the third round at Le Mans.

This was his second victory of the season, triumphing in the Monster Energy Grand Prix of France ahead of Valentino Rossi and Andrea Dovizioso.

Chad Reed put himself in position to win the Hangtown AMA Motocross race on Saturday by taking the win in the day’s first moto.

In moto two, the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider needed to work his way through the field after finding himself deep inside the top 10 after the holeshot.
