Cal Crutchlow will undergo a further medical examination on Sunday morning to decide whether or not he is able to race at Le Mans. The Monster Energy Tech 3 rider crashed on the exit of La Chapelle corner during Saturday’s final practice session.
Sunday’s Gran Premio bwin de España saw Aleix Espargaro retain his 100% record as the leading CRT runner for the 2013 season so far. Power Electronics Aspar teammate Randy de Puniet was less content, having crashed out of the race at Jerez.
Dani Pedrosa shot to the top of the timesheets in third practice ahead of the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas. As ten riders were automatically submitted to Q2 Qualifying, Marc Marquez was demoted to second position but was fortunate to escape injury in a highside accident. Jorge Lorenzo rounded out the top three.
There were mixed fortunes for the Power Electronics Aspar riders, who both recorded positive results but also crashed in the same corner.
