2022 World Ducati Week: 21 Riders Set for Race of Champions

World Ducati Week will return in 2022 following a four-year hiatus. The packed three-day schedule for the 11th edition of the event, which has been given the slogan “Let’s Ride as One,” takes place July 22–24 at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli and will feature the Race of Champions.
The race is slated for Saturday, July 23, and will bring together some of Ducati’s all-time finest factory riders in competition. The grid will feature riders from MotoGP, World Superbike, World Supersport, and MotoAmerica, including Pecco Bagnaia, Jack Miller, Michele Pirro, Johann Zarco, Jorge Martín, Enea Bastianini, Fabio Di Giannantonio, Luca Marini, Marco Bezzecchi, Álvaro Bautista, Michael Ruben Rinaldi, Danilo Petrucci, and Oliver Bayliss, son of Ducati legend Troy Bayliss. Many have won world titles in various classes and races in the European, American, and Italian championships.
During the WDW2022 Race of Champions, announced shortly after Ducati triumphed at the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello, riders will compete aboard Panigale V4 S and Panigale V2 motorcycles done up in exclusive WDW2022 livery. Each bike will be outfitted in race trim and be equipped with Akrapovič titanium exhausts, Pirelli racing slicks, and Rizoma brake lever protectors.
“It will be a unique competition: a dual category race with two winners,” Ducati said in a press release. “The Panigale V4 will be lined up in front of the Panigale V2, and the riders will compete in 12 laps of the track with free practice, qualifying, and warm-up, with times certified by Locman, the Official Timing Partner of the race. An unforgettable spectacle that only Ducati can offer, and represents one more reason to participate in WDW2022.”
Ducatisti visiting WDW2022 will also have the chance to witness Friday’s lap of honor. Besides the 21 racers set for the Race of Champions, the lap of honor will also include many Ducati racing icons, including Carl Fogarty, Troy Bayliss, Chaz Davies, Régis Laconi, and Rubén Xaus.
Participants can also join the parade of Ducati racing celebrities, which begins with a lap around Misano before heading to Riccione for the Friday evening program.
Tickets and other information can be found at World Ducati Week 2022.
